ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Former Cuban president Fidel Castro appeared in public for the first time in almost a year on Wednesday when he attended an art gallery opening in Havana. Fidel Castro was last seen in public nine months ago at a school inauguration. At Wednesday's event, he walked with assistance. Fidel Castro, 87, was operated on in 2006 for intestinal bleeding and he handed over power to his brother, who is five years younger, in 2008.
