San Jose police have released video footage of a vehicle smashing through the front entrance of a Walmart store, sending shoppers scurrying for cover. The driver has then reversed slightly, and then intentionally driven further into the store, indicating the initial "drive through" was no mere accident. The crash happened at 11:15 a.m. on March 31 at 777 Story Rd., when police said an intoxicated Haamid Zaid, a 33-year-old Seaside man with a history of bizarre drug-fueled crimes, drove a red Oldsmobile Cutlass through the front door. He then allegedly exited the car, armed himself with a blunt object and began to assault customers — one who was hospitalized — until he was subdued by bystanders and held down until officers arrived. Police have released the video in an effort to identify more potential victims and witnesses. Read more at
