U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Tacloban City in central Philippines Saturday to assess the damage caused by Typhoon Haiyan last month. Ban met with officials and offered this reassurance to residents. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.N. SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON SAYING: "My message to Filipinos that never despair, the united nations is behind you , our world is behind you. We will mobilise all resources and will to help you." Earlier on Saturday, Ban met with Filipino President Benigno Aquino to discuss rehabilitation and recovery plans for the typhoon victims. The November 8th storm that blew through the region was one of the strongest to ever make landfall. More than 6,000 people died, 1800 are still missing, and some four million are living in destroyed homes.
