The uncle of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is believed to have gotten sacked. South Korean lawmakers said Jang Song Thaek was relieved of his two influential posts -- as vice chairman of the North's National Defence Commission, and as department head of the Workers' Party. Though North Korea has not confirmed the move, Seoul's intelligence agency said Jang has not been seen recently and that two of his close aids were executed for corruption. Jang is married to an aunt of Kim Jong Un, and was among the top officials who made sure that the young untested leader took over when his father died two years ago. Jang is seen as an advocate of economic reform. He had lost a power struggle in 2004, but was reinstated two years later. Analysts say his removal would not have been possible without Kim Jong Un's approval. South Korea, with whom the north had declared a "state of war" earlier this year, said it is closely looking at how this will play out.
