Facebook: President Obama just gave a speech on what all of the Congressional leaders, from both parties, have agreed to in a final deal. A few more Congressional votes on this legislation will then allow for President Obama to sign the bill into law. It will cut $1 trillion from the budget over the next ten years, making the budget the lowest since President Eisenhower, we will avoid default, we won't face this problem again in six months due to the long-term deal, "modest adjustments" will be placed on the Social Safety net, which includes Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and taxes will be increased on the rich. A "Super Congress" will also be created. This is not 100% set in stone, however (nothing is in Washington). I will update again once new developments come in.
