The joint security forces functioning in the Maoist affected district of Paschim Medinipur had recovered a stash of arms belonging to Left Wing Extremists in an operation on yesterday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Jhargram) Mr. Mukesh Kumar told that, “Acting on a tip-off, a joint-team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the State police conducted a raid in the forest area near Auspal village. Four firearms, 10 rounds of ammunition, two landmines and several explosive devices were recovered from the spot,”

However, no Maoist was arrested during that raid, It is known that there was a Maoist hideout earlier in that area.It is possible that the extremists have moved away from that area. The ammunition and weapons were found buried, Mr. Mukesh Kumar added.
