Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony will leave from New Delhi today on a two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan to promote the bilateral ties in a wide range of areas and also to inaugurate the India-Kyrgyz Mountain Biomedical Research Centre.The unparalleled institution has been established jointly by the DRDO (Defence Research Development Organisation) and also by the National Centre of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Kyrgyzstan, to study the high altitude acclimatisation and to find measures to provide succour for the maladies at high altitudes.

Mr. Antony’s delegacy includes DRDO Chief Mr. V.K. Saraswat, Special Secretary Mr. R.K. Mathur, Secretary for Defence Finance Mr. Vijay Lakshmi Gupta and the Chief Controller of Research and Development, DRDO Mr. William Selvamurthy.

Today, Mr. Antony will hold talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Mr. Abibilla Kudayberdiev.He will also hold talks with the top leadership, including President Mr. Roza Otunbayeva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Kazakbayev Ruslan Aytbaevich and Health Minister Mr. Sabyrbek Jumabekov.
