After being intercepted and sent back to Haridwar on Sunday at the Purkazi border by the Uttar Pradesh police, Baba Ramdev had returned to announce that the indefinite hunger strike would continue at his Patanjali Yogpeeth on Haridwar.

While addressing journalists for the second time yesterday, Baba Ramdev had asserted that he would surely go to Delhi as it wasn’t anyone’s private property. Baba Ramdev clarified that “I still believe that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, who had condemned the police action, had not been consulted on the issue [of giving permission for the fast in Noida].”

About 5,000 of Baba Ramdev’s supporters were still missing after the police action at the Ramlila grounds in the capital, he said adding that many of his supporters were injured.Earlier on Sunday, he accused the Congress-led UPA government of having conspired to murder him during the police crackdown on his satyagraha in the capital of our country on the intervening night of May 4 & 5. He said that “The supporters of black money may have ejected me from New Delhi but the indefinite fast will continue till my demands are met,”.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had a closed door meeting with Baba at his Patanjali Yogpeeth on yesterday afternoon. Emerging from the meeting, the chief minister said he was shocked at the way the yoga guru was treated by the Congress led UPA government. he said that “We support the anti-corruption crusade launched by Baba Ramdev and he can continue his fast anywhere in the State,”.
