But in May 1925, Fawcett and his party, including his eldest son Jack, vanished into the jungle, never to be seen again.The fate of Percy Fawcett and his party has been considered by many as the greatest exploration mystery of the 20th century. The New York based writer David Grann became obsessed with the story after stumbling on a hidden pile of diaries. Like others before him, Grann set out to find out what happened to Fawcett, and to see whether there was any truth in the clues the explorer had left about the lost city, which Fawcett called 'Z'.History and the legend come together in this strange and beguiling saga.
